Privacy Policy
Effective September 26, 2026
The short version
- BunnyBank has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your expenses and everything else you enter stay on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud. I (the developer) can't see any of it.
- BunnyBank has no servers of its own and doesn't send your data to me or to any third party.
- A few features use Apple services (Apple Maps, speech recognition, iCloud, the App Store), described below.
Who I am
BunnyBank is made by Hlwan Aung Phyo, an independent developer. Questions about this policy: grander_rivulet_0q@icloud.com.
What BunnyBank stores, and where
What you enter (expenses, income, shops, categories, budgets, templates, notes, photos you attach, and your settings) is stored on your iPhone. The widgets, Siri actions and share extension read it from the same place on your iPhone.
If iCloud is turned on for BunnyBank, this data is also kept in your private iCloud database so it syncs between your devices and survives a new iPhone. That database belongs to your Apple Account: it's protected by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, and I have no access to it.
I don't collect any of this data. Nothing is sent to me.
Permissions, and what each one is used for
BunnyBank only asks when you first use a feature that needs it, and every feature works without the permission, just without that part.
- Location (while using the app): to remember where you log expenses, so the shops you usually pick there come first, and to show places nearby. Locations are saved with your expenses on your iPhone and in your iCloud. To find nearby places and the local currency, your approximate position is sent to Apple Maps. You can erase every saved location in Settings › Smart suggestions.
- Calendar: to read today's events on your iPhone, so a shop your plans mention can come first. Events are never saved or sent anywhere, except that an event's written address may be looked up with Apple Maps to find where it is.
- Camera: to scan receipts and photograph shops. Receipts are read on your iPhone.
- Microphone and speech recognition: to let you speak an expense, only while you hold the mic button. Speech is turned into text on your iPhone when it supports that; otherwise Apple's speech recognition service may process it, under Apple's privacy policy.
- Photos: you choose photos with the system picker, so BunnyBank only ever sees the ones you pick.
- Notifications: for reminders, recaps and "Receipt ready" after you share a receipt. They are scheduled on your iPhone.
Apple Intelligence
Reading receipts, understanding spoken expenses, the Assistant and a few suggestions use Apple's on-device language model. It runs on your iPhone; your data isn't sent to me or to any third-party AI service.
Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight
If you use BunnyBank with Siri or Shortcuts, Apple handles your requests as described in Apple's privacy policy. BunnyBank tells your iPhone about the things you log, so Siri can suggest them, and makes your shop and category names searchable in Spotlight. All of this stays on your device.
Purchases
In-app purchases and redeemed codes are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never receive your payment details. BunnyBank only checks with the App Store which features you've unlocked.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send me anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. They don't include your expenses or anything you've entered.
Keeping or deleting your data
Your data is kept until you delete it. You can delete any expense, shop, category or budget in the app, and erase every saved location in Settings › Smart suggestions. Deleting the app removes the data on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to the Settings app › your name › iCloud › Storage (Manage Account Storage) and delete BunnyBank's data. Since I hold none of your data, there's nothing for me to delete, but you're welcome to ask.
Children
BunnyBank isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change affects how your data is handled, the app will say so.
